hello,
lets' say i doing ls -al in putty. That's show a list of files extension etc. However the list is too log to be show. Is there a way to stop the scrolling while showing the list?

ls -al|less

The default number of viewable lines in putty is too low. Any time I add an IP to the list I click "window" and change the number "200" to "20000". Right clicking an already opened session and choosing "change settings" will change it as well. Using |less & |more is a PITA, unless using a terminal.

its a give or take world works both ways.

i normally have putty log it all anyways.
