    Which Intel is better?

    Hello,

I match two Intel processors for a server, but don't know which one is better and more stable:

    P4 Dual Core 920 (2.8GHz)

    OR

    Dual Xeon 2.8 GHz HT

    What do you think?

Dual Xeon - two Xeon's with HT = 4 threads

    P4 Dual Core (Pentium D?) = only 2 threads

It probably won't give you a dramatic increase in performance, but it's still a little something extra.

I would go for the Xeon, as Xeon's are server geared chips and most of them perform better than the P4's.

    Thanks.

Is this price good for Dual Xeon 2.8GHz HT:

    2GB RAM

    2 x 120GB HDD

    2000 GB Bandwidth

    And Cpanel with fantastico

    = 224,95 $ monthly

    is this offer good?

do you know other good offers for a dual xeon server?

    Well,

the basic server is just without cpanel, and it costs then 199,95 $ monthly

    cpanel +25 $, so total 224,95 $ monthly

Well, I can choose DataBank DC or Savvis DC

What is data center anyway? And which one is better?

Going with LayeredTech, either Savvis or Databank will be fine. I'm in Savvis and have had very few problems (only one day where the packet loss was really bad).

I would recommend that you look into getting somebody to help you manage your server, as it seems you are not too familiar with dedicated servers.

I believe the databank network is a bit better, as it's geared towards gameservers and layeredx, it sounds like you're going with servstra?

Both datacenter is stable and a good network. So, you won't get any wrong with it.
