    Cheap & good webhost

Anyone know where can I get webhost for about 1gb HDD space and near 1TB monthly b/w? I think I saw a few threads of web hosting companies doing that, but forgotten who...

Well, 1TB bandwidth per month is far-fetched and is offered by overselling companies.

If you really are interested, DreamHost offers one of these ridiculous plans.

Site5 is another overseller that could accomodate.. or at least pretend to.

    What kind of budget?

I know Dreamhost and Site5 have similar plans and around the same price too. But do you seriously need 1gb of space and 1TB of bandwidth? What kind of site will you be hosting? if you dont mind telling us. Unless you are distributing videos/files or have large forums such as WHT, you should just get a host with the space and bandwidth you require thus being able to get a 'better' quality hosting.

Good luck in your hunt for a host

P.S - Took me 3 mins to type this reply thus but looks like DH and Site5 are famous for these TB bandwidth plans.

DH and site5 though would suspend you due to cpu over use.... 1TB of BW means high usage. what is your budget (cheap) range?

I don't think, at least have not seen, shared hosting providers provide download link for you to test the speed of their connection.

Servage and DreamHost may be able to do that.
I've used servage in the past and I'm using DreamHost, now.

They are much better than some of higher priced host in many ways.
Both use RAID disk arrays, and clustered setup.
Servage's cluster is redundant, not DreamHost.

It means DreamHost has more chance of downtime than servage if all other things are equal.
But Servage's control panel is a bit simple and they don't provide raw log nor good stats program.

Dreamhost provide raw logs and also CPU usage log, and many other features not so common.

I've never used Site5, but some people I know are using them and working for them.
Last time I checked, they were not using RAID storage.
And their forum is now known to be rather strictly controled.
(But so as the WHT, and the forum of some other hosts.)
Recently, site5 isn't very popular in WHT, although they were once very popular.

DreamHost has been bashed by many, too.

And they ARE crazy and sometime they make insane mistake.
But overall, it's hard to beat DreamHost for the cost/features/performance, unless you are not lucky and land on a server infested with abusers (well, let's say, "heavy users").

Servage has less exposure in WHT, and the CEO? of servage "Steff" occasionally pays visit to WHT.
I think it's an good alternative for serving static file.

Both servage and DreamHost allow adult contents while site5 doesn't.

Site5 may sell/give your info to 3rd party, as it was written so in their TOS (at least when I saw last time).

Check Netfirms and some others providing 1TB+.
Generally, they are not popular in WHT, because many of regular posters here are smaller hosts competing with them, and also larger hosts tend to be less service oriented and larger user base implies bigger chance of frustrated users coming to complain, too.
But it doesn't mean they are always very bad.
Some people are happy with cheap hosts.

I'm happy with DreamHost, but I always have a backup host, too, just in case.
