I don't know exactly what the problem is nor how those file have been renamed to cpmove-NameOfBackup.tar.gz.Part*. I'm sure that mv command does only move files or change files names. so , the mv command shouldn't be the reason. have you splitted the file using split command ?
if I understand the problem you have correctly , cat command should combine all those files to one file , try :
i just use the command motioned in the above "mv nameOfBackup ipNewServer"
then i wrot "ls"command to see the backup spiltted to 4 part. is it the space the reason? because the space of disk extended . i don't think that.
you motioned this command for moving tha backup :
scp NameOfBackup.tar.gz [email protected]:/destinitionFolder
where i can write the password for root i don't see it.
after you issue the command it will ask you for the root password of the remote server.
I'm sorry I'm not sure I understand what you meant by " the space of disk extended" , does your server run out of space ? if so, move all files to the new server because you will not be able to do anything while your server is running out of space.
also , cat cpmove-NameOfBackup.tar.gz.Part* > NameOfBackup.tar.gz should do the same thing that cat cpmove-NameOfBackup.tar.gz.Part1 cpmove-NameOfBackup.tar.gz.Part2 cpmove-NameOfBackup.tar.gz.Part3 cpmove-NameOfBackup.tar.gz.Part4 > NameOfBackup.tar.gz does.
i have two server the frist when i wrot comman it's accepted then i enter the password but unfortunately the backup 0 kb maybe because the disk out space make the backup empty. but the secaod give me this message
"ssh: root: Name or service not known"
