    Clean my account! (Gmail)

    Hey all!

I've had a Gmail account for a long time now...

I never used the account but I want to start.

There is like 20,000 total messages in the account (spam, etc)

Is there anyway I can clear the account and have 0 messages without having to go delete every one page by page?

    Thanks alot!

When you click Select All you'll get a new prompt (look at the top of your inbox) to select all messages in your inbox. Do that and you'll be able to remove everything.
If you have to operate your company behind the scenes or under a fake name, maybe it's time to leave the industry and start something fresh.

Use Outlook Express and you are spared from seeing the spam.

    Spams? They're everywhere!

I see no need to clean up my gmail account. But, it pays to do some cleaning maybe once a month.

The best thing in Gmail is its spam protection. Outlook express doesn't stop spam, it takes anything.

There is a feature in Gmail in both the Spam and Trash boxes that allows you to delete all/delete all forever option.

I don't have a spam problem with gmail. If you ever need to register at any website that you think it's fishy or for whatever reason you may want to check out disposables emails like dodgeit.com

Not if you are using the Norton Antivirus (Full Free Version).

I do agree though, Gmail should have a "delete all" or "reset" button.

    Peace,
So you let your pc have an infection and HOPE nortons has that virus in its deffinitions and is able to remove it?

Nortons is not safe, or secure... There is even a book out at the store that talks about all its security backdoors and how to exploit it... I guess the programers who wrote it were not making enough money on the software they wrote for nortons!

I wonder if there's a way to set up a gmail account using regular outlook.

I'd love to start using gmail as my email solution but not webmail

Actually, there is! Once you log into your gmail account go to settings and look under pop settings, or mail forwarding, forget what they call it...

    Huh?

Man I am sure glad I asked this. I have 3 gmail accounts for personal and business stuff. I just forward the other 2 to my one account. but now I can just pop it. I didn't think they'd allow pop.

It's also done over SSL which is NICE!
