    Hi!
That's why I have backups! With anything...I don't care what it is..always plan for a backup...just in case.

Sorry if anyone gets nippy about this post, it was meant on a light note!

Yes i still have email and ticket support but get this...

I tried to call a customer and my skype headset broke, i wasnt too sure if it was just the connection, so i tried again..... then left it 10 mins and tried again....

Now my customer must think im some big dirty stalker (without the heavy breathing down the phone)....

    Dear oh dear...

Also, yes backups are good but ive never looked at headsets being bought in like consumables in packs of 3 or 4 .....

Is it possible for you to buzz out and buy another headset (even if it's a makeshift set from, say, RadioShack)?

    Hi Dan,

that would be brill if i was in the US... the sad thing is in the UK Skype headsets are RARE, i went into a computer store asking for one and they thought i wanted a sky digital package.... even offered me a discount on installing the Sky dish.....

I have ordered another and will, for now, let calls go to voicemail.

Oh well... its one of those days where you want to sit in a corner and have no contact with the outside world...... what am i talking about? im a webhost... i do that every day! lol

Ah, I see. Well, I do hope it comes soon. And look at it this way: at least you're getting a break.

I wonder that myself... its cost me £60 (roughly $110) and its been absolutely brilliant, Skype does wonders for customer service!!, i dont mind the competition so its a hint to all you web hosts out there!!

I have my headset hanging on a custom installed "peg". Either my laptop (its a dell) short circuited it... or its just seen its days and destined for the headset scrap pile. Oh well, ive managed amazingly at 17:02PM london time to have one couriered to me in the next hour... I love the modern world!

That's great you got a new one - not good for your break, though! Cheers!

You can always call your clients from your home phone.

I use a Logitech USB Headset 350, nothing wrong with it so far. Great if you ask me.

I love it.... I have been testing it for 1 year actually now that I think about it, rarely had issues. Also I have Vonage which I turned into a fax machine since Vonage does not cut it for me.

I'm using Vonage business which includes a fax number as well. I don't do high volume calls mind you so that's probably why I've stuck with it. Seems to do the trick.
