I've got an IBM eServer 342 I use as a test server with one, single channel IBM 4Lx RAID card. I recently added an optional hot-swap unit allowing me to add an addition 3 drives (totaling 6 drives).

The two SCSI backplanes cannot be daisychained together. So, what I'm wondering is if anyone knows if I can simply add an additional single channel 4Lx raid card and configure all 6 drives in a single array, or do I need to get a single, dual channel card (IBM 4Mx - much more expensive).

Any thoughts are appreciated!
