Timehost may accommodate your needs. I used their services back around 2001, and at the time they were pretty good. Why won't HostGator accept your credit card?

So HostGator don't like your cc .... well they can be a bit anal about that.
Have you considered using some other payment form instead, like PayPal?

They say:
"We accept MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover, PayPal, checks, money orders, cash, and bank transfers."

Has your card expired, maybe? What kind is it (Discover, MasterCard, Visa, Diner's Club, etc...)?

You may try lunar pages. Web.com is okay as well.

What type of bandwidth are you looking at for your hosting services. What type of credit card are you trying to use? Definately look around the shared hosting forums and you can find a good host. Look up reviews on them and give them a test run with pre-sales questions.

You certainly have reasonable specifications. On top of the 3-5GB of disk space, what would your monthly budget be, as well, how much bandwidth do you feel your website would need?

The shared hosting forums offer a variety of plans, however I think if you need at least 3GB of disk space, you might be better off with a Reseller plan, pending what your budget might be.

I buy a budget reseller account (cpanel, 2GB disk space, 30 Bandwidth) form resellerzoom. This time I have no problem with my cc eurocard-mastercard.
Hostgator sucks.

It's not that Host Gator sucks, but it's possible that your CC doesn't work everywhere. Believe it or not, I had an issue with Reseller ZOOM a while back when I went to transfer from paying by Paypal to pay by Credit Card and my CC got declined, however I went to another web host, with the CC and it went through. That's a possibility.

Hostgator sucks.
Just because they dont accept your credit card dosent mean they "Suck". Hostgator has a wonderful reputation and there just great.

After 20 days with Resellerzoom I’m very disappointed . A lot of downtime, bad support and more limitations.
I change my cc, and this time was accepted at Hostgator and I’m very happy.

THANKS HOSTGATOR for saved me from Kiet

Marius,

That's a fairly quick change of tune!
Glad to see you've found a host that's satisfying.
