Depending on the forum software and with that many users. I recommend:

1.) webserver - dual procs lots of ram fast IO raid 10 is a must ( i would put more ram in the webserver)
2.) mysql server - dual procs lots of ram fast IO raid 10 is a must
3.) mysql slave server for searches

If is vbulletin use memcachd. it does wonders.

RAID10 requires 4 hard drives. Since you are running vBulletin, you are in luck. They have a great community that can help you out. There is even a person that works for Jelsoft that helps you optimize your servers. http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/

Check out the Server Configuration forum and see what George (eva2000) can do for you.

There isn't enough information here for me to help you optimize your site, but I can tell you that the woodcrest server will be faster than Dempsey.

RAID 10 is ok. You might want to go with a SCSI setup though. It costs a bit but the speed is faster and would give you nice I/O.
