Due to capacity and transit quality issues at LAX1 (600 W. 7th St, Suite 300 XO facility) we have made the decision to migrate all current customers at that facility to a brand new LAX2 facility located at Peer1 within the same building. The move to pure Peer1 bandwidth will increase our transit and co-location SLA from 99.99% to 100.00% for that facility.
This move is being made with the full consent of all customers at the facility who maintain a MRC of over $1000. Our dedicated server customers at Staminus will not be impacted.
The migration date will be set for early December and we will post a definate date and time window once Peer1 is able to confirm the availability of their engineering team. It is our desire to complete this move as swiftly as possible in order to minimize downtime to customer assets.
Please feel free to post any questions or concerns you may have. Updates will be posted here as the official method of communication for this move.
Customer migration will begin at 9AM Pacific on Saturday, December 9th. All customers affected by the migration must manually power down their equipment to prevent possible failures due to improper shutdown.
There is a very large amount of equipment that needed to be migrated as well as reconfiguring the router in conjunction with Peer1's engineers to get everything live again.
Initially an ETA was not provided because the actual ETA as we discussed the move internally was anything from "very short" to "quite a while" depending on a large number of factors. Naturally that's not a real ETA, so it was not and is not being communicated as such.
We also ran into a delay with NR Software having moved some of our equipment into locked space that we do not have direct access to without our consent and being uncooperative in getting that resolved.
As promised, I will continue to keep you all posted. We are well aware that there are serious issues that urgently require our attention and they will be resolved to completion.
