    Never Use managemybox.com

There services is the worsed I have ever had!

    managemybox.com
    managemyservices.com

First there servers aint managed the might check it once a month. Mysql had some seriues outage and after about 10 tickets opened. They finally replied with a standard reply saying it will be fixed. All they did was a reboot and a reboot and another reboot.

    Second problam

One of my clients on the server was running a forum which had links to warez but nothing listed on the server. After I opened a ticket about downtime a moderator noticed that forum was on my server and closed the entire server.

I had to open another ticket to figure out what was going on. He told me that the manager named (nick) would look at this. Now im 3 /4 days later and there was no nick! 3/4 days of downtime . yesterday I desided to cancel my server And so I did, And opened a ticket again asking to open the server to get my backups. Same moderator replied saying.

And you proceeded to violate the terms of service. As stated a manager will be in contact with you, opening new tickets will not advance your cause.
Tomorrow it will be the 5 day with downtime And I havent got the server backups. Im hoping to get my backups by tomorrow but im 98% sure there will be no nick and no server

This is insane he isnt letting me get my backups!!

Never use Managemybox there servers arent managed and even an urgent ticket takes them 24 to reply

Hmmm, sad to see you are going through that. Perhaps you will have better luck at your next provider. Did they give you a reason of why they wont give you your backups?

Well now you know why you should not save your backups on the same machine
ALWAYS do your backups off-site. Using the same machine simply doesnt help at all.

I wonder if there is any kind of billing issues going on with them and the OP? That is the only reason I can see why they wouldn't release backups to you.

Interesting that as of time of posting this user is disabled.

Also, not about to comment on this issue on a public board but there was a justified cause for shutdown of the server and we have every right not to return backups, however we will be allowing user 48 hours to recover data. We don't just shut down servers for no reason since it results in lost revenue and profit for us.

In regards to the other comments, I can assure you there are staff monitoring our support center 24/7 and urgent tickets are taken as priority and we are always looking for more qualified staff to work within our business to improve response times.

    Thanks for considering ManageMyServices!

I know, serious blast from the past here. I got a server from ManageMyBox 5 days after this post and I've had nothing but SQL issues since day one. I've been down for hours tonight with trouble ticket just ticking away in their inbox. Now after researching this issue, it looks like I got this recycled box and it's issues with SQL and "Seems someone is attempting to gain access to the server, BFD is causing the load blocking them". I'm being told "it's something you'll probably have to live with".

Again, sorry for the bump. Nick, I've emailed you a few times tonight - not getting anywhere with you or your staff. I know, I'm giving you 6 hours like your site says... It's just rough when my customers don't want to give me 6 hours. I've read through hundreds of your posts tonight (as I wait for my managed server to start working), and I can't help but see that even back in 2006 you were saying "we are always looking for more qualified staff to work within our business to improve response times."

    Just odd ramblings, I guess....

yeah, I'm still waiting for my server to work - so instead of sleep (which I want to do), I am surfing the net.

Now they can't find my root password. Instead of looking it up, they closed the ticket.

My point was that I think I got this troubled box from the first poster. Again, sorry for bringing back such an old post

I was also considering this company, now I'm glad I didn't if all is true. Best of luck to both parties.

Hopefully they are able to reply to matters well ahead of their 6 hour promise, but in this case it does not look like it. Hopefully you get this taken care of.

Why the hell I am responding in a thread from two years ago is beyond me...

Not sure how you are equating recycled box with SQL issues. Different parts are recycled between servers as is standard in this industry but it does not affect the applications running on the server. When we provision a server we install a pre-loaded image on it which is standard to all configurations. As to the specific SQL issue I cannot comment as I have not looked at it in detail yet. This is something which you should have e-mailed directly to me and awaited a response for.

To those put off using ManageMyBox because of this, consider we now have several hundred servers under management, I would assume we must be doing something right to keep the vast majority of these happy. I can also say we have the staff we require, this is not the issue here at all, shockingly since 2006 we have employed the people necessary to ensure support is at the levels we deem acceptable.

Well after a few hours sleep, I feel a bit better. I wasn't trying to push people away from this company - I had just found it very odd that I had appeared to pick up this broken box and I had found the post that looked like it had a tainted history. I'm sure Nick has hundreds of very happy customers, and I'm pretty darn happy too when I'm not using his trouble ticket system.

After fighting with the tech for a while on why they should save my root password (manage my what?) on their end and not expect me to have to supply it to them with each and every ticket, and how I had just asked a tech with managemybox to change my root password in a previous ticket - and was actually told "Sure just give me a week or so to sort through all the tickets we've handeled in the last few months and find that specific one, and if I'm still awake and on shift I'll get right on it for you." I finally found where I needed to input my root password on their extensive support site, and hopefully this won't be an issue again.

I am back up and running, although my server load has still not dropped below 2.00. The tech did find a problem with the box that I need to start another trouble ticket to get resolved. The verbage was "However I am seeing a CPU temp issue which is a good indication that your server may have CPU or mainboard problems. I recommend backing up your data and opening a new ticket to request we put your drive into a new server (the backups are just for safekeeping, the drive swap should leave things the same but without errors)." I've been fighting this issue for months, now at least I have a reason why it's doing it! This is good news!

I guess I can vouch for the fact that Nick isn't alone working on these servers - which is a good thing. I got a tech named Angel who let me know "And as I said, my name is Angel, feel free to complain to the owner". Thanks, I had already done that, but I think he's on vacation!

Bottom line: 3 hours and 6 minutes before a tech got to me, and the problem was resolved. Go team!

I'm sorry you are forced to reply to a post. I didn't ask you to do so. You always sound upset when you post on here. I did email you. It was a few hours past my bedtime and I was grouchy when I found this post. I didn't say I got this box from the first poster, I just found a bit of levity while I waited for my ticket.

I ordered another box from managemybox a few weeks ago, had nothing but problems with it crashing for no reason. They said it was my problem because I upgraded to apache 2.2, PHP 5 and MySQL 5. I then searched the logs and found bad sectors on the disk. They then replaced the server, but this one also started crashing. They then upgraded me to another server for free, but guess what.......another bad box.
Anyway they gave me a full refund, still have another cPanel server with them thats running fine.
They are a genuine company and would still recommend them even though I didn't have a particularly good experience (hopefully a one off).
C program run. C program crash. C programmer quit.

Don't bump old threads first of all. Open a new one if you have an issue. You cannot in any rational moment believe that you have exactly the same server as this old thread.

If the TOS says 6 hours response time then even if your customers are complaining you should be prepared to wait that long or find a host with shorter guaranteed response times.

I know you are just venting and understand that but in the future there really are better ways to get stuff like this resolved.

Since all is resolved thread closed. If that is not the case please just let us know via a help desk ticket here.
