I know this kind of post from a new member is a bit of an invitation for controversy, but I've just had a really tough time wading through all the hosting plans and reviews, and I'm looking for a recommendation.
Basically, I've been with a hosting company for several years, and I'm happy with them, but I want to open a new, second account for a new site, and I want it to be on a unique IP, so that it isn't shared with a whole bunch of other sites. I doubt I'll be doing much bandwidth, so I just need a basic account with the usual things like php, mysql, email and stats. Also, if I add more domains to the account, I'd like to be able to potentially buy more unique IPs.
So feel free to <post> with any recommends for trustworthy, reliable hosts.

Most hosts will offer you the choice of a shared IP or a dedicated IP with the dedicated IP option costing slightly more. It shouldn't be hard to find one.. best thing would be to find a company you like and either email them or check their order form for "addons".
Some hosts will require justification for the IP, eg if you need the IP for an SSL certificate. This basically just stops people having 100 IPs sitting idle when they could be used for something else.
STATIC IP DOES NOT MEAN DEDICATED IP!!!
Static means it doesn't change.. dedicated means it's only for you.
