Ahh I have a question and when I have a question about hosting I know where to come to get the best advice.
First I'll try to explain what I'm trying to do. I have a website hosted on an account on a shared server. I am building an online system where it will allow users to upload images, zip, rar files for tutorials, website templates, forum skins, and other webmaster type resources.
The thing is when this system grows in popularity (which I am anticipating) I want to make the application so it can process the upload onto another host. Preferably this other host will be high bandwidth/high disk space but it should just have the barebones to make it work. No mySQL because the data for the uploaded file will be processed on the shared hosting account's mysql database. So I'm assuming it will have to have PHP as well or CGI to process the online upload. I would not be using this other hosting account for anything else.
The thing is I was wondering what is the most cost effective solution? What type of hosting should I be looking for? Is there a particular type of hosting that fits my bill like "file hosting" which just has the barebones to make my plan work? Are you aware of any companies that offer this type of feature at a low cost?
Any help or direction is appreciated!

why don't you get a host that has high bandwidth and disk space... if you exceed then upgrade to a dedicated server.
Having two different hosts is not really good practice. as if one is down then the whole system is down
