A host for the begining of a vBulletin forum plsss..

Because my previous post has been closed due to some people was off-topiced (NOT ME AT ALL), and after the permission of a community leader (see here) I would post again so people please kindly help me to select a provider. Thanks very much! NOTE: Please do not post any similar posts like here anymore!

Hi guys, I'm looking for a shared hosting plan to develop a vBulletin forum. The forum may contain a bit adult content, and will try my best to optimize to be as less resource intensive as possible.

As the forum may get larger so one day I may move to a dedicated server so I wish the hosting company's cancellation policy should not make me very tight (less than a week cancellation prior request notice)

My budget would be 20$/mo to 30$/mo for:

Quote:
  • CPanel
  • Allow vBulletin
  • Allow adult content
  • > or = 2 GB storage
  • > or = 50GB monthly traffic
  • > or = 10 addon, parked, sub-domains
  • > or = 99.9% uptime GUARANTEED
  • 24/7/365 support
  • better have live support chat but not required
  • Less than 2 hours account activation
  • Accepts Paypal as main payment method
Guys it would be great if when you pass here, kindly throw a company name which you believe is the best FOR YOU (if possible post some of your thinks too ). However if that company has a plan which is coincidental to my requirement, that would be perfect.

Thank you for your time!

Hey,
You might have got my pm, i think i looked at your other or wrong thread that got closed. Sorry bout that .

Company that has been best for me has been Layeredtech so far, but i doubt they have shared hosting plans on them. But for 30$ why not try getting a VPS ?

Hi paidhosting, thank you for your reply, and yea I've got your PM too, however when I was trying to reply, it said your PM box is full so I think I can also post here:

About the reason why my previous post got closed: I believe that was because the Mod thought those guys were making funs, which lowered the quality of that threads.

About Layeredtech and VPS: I've checked them, and they don't have any shared hosting plans, since they only offer unmanaged dedicated boxes.

The case I don't want to get a VPS is because I don't wish to spend hours of time on configurating it at this moment, I now just wish to find a shared host and start my development a little bit, when I see the board is getting larger (when a shared hosting couldn't host it), I may directly go for a dedicated box.

I used to have a VPS in Servint before, but I didn't like it. Not only because all busy sites were on a same box made everyone very slow, but also their 30-days prior cancellation notice made me spent $90 USD for nothing.

Oh thanks for pointing out that my inbox was all full, damn, i suppose 200 limit not good for me .

Well if your site grows and takes up too many resources you would be forced to move to vps or dedicated eventually by any host. But have you ever been hosted by anyone and know what sort of load it might be putting out ?

And the adult thing is legal ??

ttk_2k,

With your budget you should have no issue finding a suitable provider however due to the fact you're looking to host a vb forum you may run into to cpu usage issues. I'd caution you that if you see a deal that's too good to be true don't just jump on any bandwagons (as many that oversell have plenty of cpu clauses to suspend you for overusage).

In any case you may wish to peruse through the wht offers section(s) to begin.

Wish you the best with your new forum.

Guys, all your replies are so impressive and thank you so much for all your kind words.

I by the meanwhile is doing a lot of searchings to see if there's a suitable host, however any of your recommendation would be greatly welcomed!

Please, just point out the company name which is the best *for you*, I would like to check their services and would see if they are suitable for me..

Thanks once more!
