if there is an index.html or index.htm, delete that...
If that does not work, you may be uploading the index.php to the wrong directory.

Unlikely as I think it will be one of the 2 ideas that Alex stated but just in case it's not then check that you can run .php extensions!

Did you upload the index.html file in your root directory? I.e. /public_html or on some hosts /www (i.e. "/home/public_html/index.html" or "/home/www/index.html") ?
How much time has passed since you updated your domains nameservers ? (it can take up to 72h for NS to spread on the network)
Before you changed the NS's of your domain name could you see that green page?

If you are using cPanel as control panel, once you login, click on File Manager (a new page will appear) then click on the public_html icon (its right next to it on your left side) you will enter the folder that way, once you are done click on upload file and upload there your index.html (don't forget to click the little box for replacing a existing file in this case).
If you are using any kind of FTP software, or you are connecting to FTP via the browser once you get logged in, you will be able to see different folders one of wich will be public_html or www (if they are both then just click on public_html) once you enter there, upload your index.html file and you are done (except if you have NS issues).
Good luck

That 'green page' that you are currently seeing is the index.html file that was loaded as a default when they created your account.
When you login via ftp, you should see several folders, one of them being the public_html folder.
Double-click on that folder, then upload your files. You should be replacing the index.html file when you do this.
If the main page of the site you are uploading has a home page of something like index.htm or index.php, be sure to delete the index.html that is already there.
