Needed recommendations for shared hosting: 20-30GB space with 80-100 add-on domains
I am looking for a large shared hosting package, and I need about 20-30GB space with 80-100 add-on domains, for less than $13/month. Let me know your recommendations. Thanks

That is a lot of space for a shared hosting account. You would be better with a VPS but you would need to increase your budget I think.

Instead of VPS, it might be a reseller hosting package, that I could use to host my domains

Yes, you may be right but not for the budget you have stated....you would be looking in the region of $70-90 for that size of package on a reseller so you would be more beneficial going with a managed VPS.

I think you should either go for reseller account for that budget. A VPS will cost you atleast 20$. But even if you find a reseller account for $13 with 20GB space, better ensure the reliability of the host before paying.

I agree, raise your budget up just a bit and managed vps solution is the way to go. That is quite a request for such disk space, you may even have to think about a dedicated box.

I agree with HostFrog, because VPS has more shortages than dedicated one

I agree with the other comments on the thread - your expectations are unrealistic. You may find a package, such as you're looking for, advertised for your price, but take it from the people that own hosting companies: there is no magic in what that host is offering. Expect to have something that should be a non-issue become an issue: hardware, bandwidth or customer service.
Kind Regards,

Why don't you test some hosts?
Many of shared hosting companies offer money back guarantee or monthly payment plan.
Many offer huge discount coupons that it cost nearly nothing.
So, instead of getting scared by some posters, test and see it by yourself.
Depending on the site construction, luck, on which erver you land, you may find acceptable shared hosting packages.
It will save you lots of money and many headaches.
And don't test just one.
Test at least two (and maybe even keep both, for primary and backup host).

...and about a good reliable reseller hosting package with 20GB for less than $20/month? Is there any host that you can recommend?

I would say lurk around the offers section of WHT you may find some post there from providers that may catch your eye in something that your looking for. However, I think at the end of the day your budget still needs a raise worse than an overworked laborer

I agree with HostFrog, check out the offers section. Although you might be able to find a pretty ok reseller account for $13 per month. Keep us updated on this one.

You can try a host that oversells, I store around 5 gigs on my dreamhost.com account. Then again, 5 and 20 gigs are way different.
Some overselling host offer a money back guarantee, so you should try them.

And DreamHosts offer one of the longest money back guarantee. 97 days.
Unless their retention rate is good, they could not have stayed in the business.
In other words, they are satisfying major part of their customers.
Honest smaller host would admit that they can't possibly compete with big guys in terms of pure resource allocation (It's nearly impossible), instead of silly "overselling" type bashing (often without any first hand experiences) as it would eventually hurt their own credibility/business, IMO.

Having to test out a host with that many domains would be torture. Are all the domains individual sites or just 1 site with a lot of aliases?

you are asking alot for $13. i would rise to at least $50 and get a resellers. vps might cost more. save yourself all the trouble. you can get a dedicated sever at managemybox.com for $59 i have a server with them and they are great.
