Question Need a registrar with free (or very cheap) WHOIS protection

I've got nearly 200 domains with RegisterFly (*don't ask*) and I'm finally sick of their incompetence. However, with this many domains it makes it very pricey to transfer somewhere else if I'm going to have to pay and additional $5-10/domain for WHOIS protection.

    Anyone have any registrar suggestions?

    Thanks.

Namecheap.com, free whois for transfers and there after $1.57/yr with a block of 5
Support is not a strong point but all the rest is fine
    use code to transfer
    MORE4LESS = $7.98
YAFFASPECIAL only seem to work for new reg

Ok thanks guys. I registered my first 2 domains there this afternoon.
How long does it take for the whois protection to take effect?
    Been waiting 3 hours already...

I assume you assigned the whoisguard to your domain? It does not automatically activate.

    How do I activate it?
I assigned it, and as far as I can tell it's supposed to be working.
When I look at the domain details it says:
WhoisGuard is currently enabled for this domain.
Your personal information is protected from public access
And then below the contact information is the WhoisGuard stuff.

What else is there to do?

OK, it should be fine then. I've been using iwhois.com, they seem to update quickly.

Tried iwhois, still showing my information.
Oh well, I'll give it 24 hours and hopefully it'll be working by then.

    Thanks.

With 200+ domains it will be economically feasible to sign with services like DNOA to receive numerous members benefits, including but not limited to free whois protection.

With 200 domains, I'd transfer them to eNom.

But how much does their ID Protect cost?
I see a "buy it now" button but I'd have to make an account in order to see that price......can't be that great of a deal if its not publicly posted.

Oops! Sorry. I was a bit off-topic. I wasn't really considering the ID Protect cost, which I think is $6. You might consider joining www.dnoa.org for really cheap whois protection.
