    Please recomend me a host

    What i need

diskspace: not too important for me....around 1MB i reckon
    Bandwidth: over 20GB at least
    FTP
    MySql
    cPanel

    would like a UK host

SSH would be nice but is not vital.

    less than £10 a month - $14 aprox i think

    uptime as best as possible....

Does anyone know any good hosts?

    Please let me know!

Try to google for "uptime comparison" to find the best one. 1 GB diskspace and 20 GB bandwidth offer most web hosts.

    I would hope so.

To the OP: Your diskspace should be important. I mean afterall it is the one of the biggest aspects of your web hosting solution that you are paying for. However, I would say search WHT for UK providers and gather a list and search for reviews on them either here at WHT or other review sites such as WHReviews.com

The comparisons I've seen suffer from various methodological flaws that one way or another lead to inexact measurements and final conclusions/tops/comparisons. These should thus be used at most as just another small thing when trying to make a purchasing decision, rather than something of crucial importance. (All IMO of course)

Very vaild point Dan, but there is still that good ole money back guarantee. Any consumer should go with a provider that offers this, just incase. Besides its web hosting, you don't like it move on...no contracts (in shared) thats the beauty.

Money back is very critical, DO not prepay, make sure you pay monthly, even if there is no contract.... I would additonally suggest you get your domain from a different registrar.

I doubt any provides SSH but thats not a requirement of OP so i suppose.

But try steadfast (they are not in uk though) well neither are Hostgator.

But you want only 1 MB space?
12+ years -same website , new server [SSD Inside] providing shared/reseller hosting only !
These things we do not provide/offer : Unlimited Storage ! Unlimited Bandwidth ! But Why? Cause, we were unable to put such a large number on our pages, it just would not fit.
So check out the numbers that actually fit >> << the page as well as your budget too !

    Hi mikey,

In addition to a few of the hosts mentioned above, I would definitely recommend taking a look at: http://www.clook.co.uk . Clook provides excellent cpanel shared web hosting services in the UK (and US). They might be a little bit more expensive than a number of the other companies that were listed, but they do provide a quality service. I wish you the best of luck with your future provider!
    Thanks,

There is a whole 'nuther post about not using hostgator, about six pages or so.

    I suggest you compare to/with www.allreseller.com
    My Hosts?
Siteworks for my single account. "Pretty darn good, for years now."
And now all my eggs are in their basket.

Steadfast seem to have good peering to Europe and they offer pretty good packages, good support and SSH on the asking.
