    Question server load ?

Hi guys i have a P4 2.3Ghz with 1GB ram server ... running with Ubutu ... ok what happend is my server load average gets high really easly i mean ... im not using the server right now so its free .. sometimes i strat downloading somefiles .... and i see the server load witch goes from 0.00 to 1.2 .... i checked the cpu usage and .. thats what i get :

    top - 00:27:00 up 3 days, 17:06, 1 user, load average: 1.32, 0.95, 0.75
    Tasks: 117 total, 2 running, 113 sleeping, 2 stopped, 0 zombie
    Cpu(s): 4.4% us, 1.7% sy, 0.4% ni, 91.2% id, 1.3% wa, 0.0% hi, 1.0% si
    Mem: 1018456k total, 1001580k used, 16876k free, 2276k buffers
    Swap: 1044216k total, 144k used, 1044072k free, 746456k cached

ok you see i got loads of ram left .. and the cpu usage is only 4.4% !! so is my server load average normal ?

    Thanks !

When the load spikes, are you running backups or stats?
