Recently my server has been under a great amount of stress and I haven't been able to figure out why. My provider (Softlayer) has told me a great amount is due to the mySQL yet I can't imagine it would overload the server as much as it is because it was fine on my old Dual Xeon 2.8GHZ w/ HT 2GB Ram and it's pretty much the same and at the current time has only about 35 users on the site.
My current server is: Processor #1 Vendor: GenuineIntel
Processor #1 Name: Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU 5130 @ 2.00GHz
Processor #1 speed: 2000.430 MHz
Processor #1 cache size: 4096 KB
It's being run by the cPanel user of my site and was taking up 80+% of the memory. My server's memory load was up at 90% so I killed the process and it dropped to 7%. Yet the process just pops right back up there as well as my server load, almost instantly...
Is this just a normal process that should be running? Or what is it? Thanks for any help!
