I'v gone through reselling accounts now i want to setup my own server, now what would be my option should i go for cobalt raQ or should i go for dedicated hosting, I don't know much about linux, i don't have any idea how RaQ's works, what i want to do is usual webhosting , ability to create reseller accounts etc.
Can anyone guide me how many accounts can one raq server holds? how much processing they can do? plz help
Hi, you don't need to know much about linux to use a raq (unless you want to do more complicated things...
I've heard that rackshack puts 250 sites on a raq with 512mb ram is this is an indication... We had about 180 sites using up about a total of 30Gb bandwith on a raq with 256mb ram not slowing down at any time and always fine. Maybe not alot of bandwith but the peaks can be quite high some times when you get alot of visits at the same time !
The Raq is not the most flexibel system there is, but it is extremely easy to manage.
You say you want to create reseller plans ?
Then you better look at a regular server with Ensim orso.
You are right if you mess to much with the Raq you'll get major problems if you are not a Linux guru.
In my humble opinion you should eighter drop the reseller plans and start off with the raq so you will have time to learn and still keep your business going.
Or take a crashcourse "Linux guru" and start with a white box with a control panel installed so you get a powerfull machine that can do it all.
ps. if you find the crashcourse "Linux guru" mail me the URL
