Wonderful whois info with microsoft.com !

    Hi,
Today I was checking my desktop whois software and I tried microsoft.com and got a wonderful result.
checked the result on google and found the following link among with many other lnks:

    http://www.verisign-grs.com/cgi-bin/...ype=nameserver

Why such info are appearing on verisign whois system for microsoft.com ?
it does not appear via other whois servers like the one whois.sc use.

    http://www.verisign-grs.com/cgi-bin/...ype=nameserver

Look at your URL (type=nameserver), you can register a name server such as screw.microsoft.com.youtube.com and it would show up on that search. The reason these do not show up for Whois.sc because they do not search for name servers.

    aha, got it!
but why when you're using http://whois.internic.com:43 (internic whois server) , it shows that thing instead of normal microsoft.com whois?

If you use whois.verisign-grs.com:43, you'll see these results. Also, internic does display those results.

    whois microsoft.com @whois.internic.net -d -n

when I ran that command, it showed the results.

It only does this so that the user can obtain a list of every possible result. I could register webhostingtalk.com.imikey.com as a nameserver, and it would show up in those results.
