Hmmm-
Point taken Bear. Newegg does have better prices after all. I went to Newegg and made a few refinements. Saved some $$ on the MB by not getting SLI, and found an ATI combo.
How does the ATI X1650 Pro compare to that GEforce 7600 GT?
Knocked the price down quite a bit, and I think I now have a more solid case/power supply. The mushkin ram might be a little more stable also. Whaddya think?

You should be happy with the Sonata 2 case. Solid, reasonably quiet, easy to work in. Built one for the wife using it. Can't comment on the graphics, not much of a gamer, so most of my power needs in that dept are pretty humble. I do have 2 GB DDR RAM in this crate though. Must have *some* luxuries.

Yes, I have an Antec SLK2650 BQE - Black Quiet Mid-Tower on my current computer, and I am very happy with it. Very quiet and it was really easy to install all the components into. I've used the cheap-o cases before, and they are really not worth it. I've also got a Chieftec Dragon Mid-Tower, and it is nice too. The Chieftecs are getting hard to find these days though.

Sometimes you can find psycho computers for really cheap sometimes. I saw a computer with 2GB, 7600GT, 19" LCD, Core 2 Duo E6300, for under 600 bucks.

It was a bit over a month ago in an Australia Magazine called Atomic.
Psycho was meant to mean crazy, great, too good.

It has a strange "isolate the PSU" design by enclosing it below the main body of the case, and the wiring is awkward as a result. On top of that, it's built to be very quiet...but since it has a very open rear panel and two 120mm fans (top and rear), CPU fan noise is easily heard outside the case. Dumb. I had to buy a different heatsink with a large (120mm) fan to quiet it down to acceptable levels. Big and heavy, but works very well. Check out this monster. Felt pretty silly mounting this...and had to remove the graphics card to reach the last mounting pin. Stupidly large gadget.
