Checked my server... docroot seems fine, /etc/hosts seems fine, httpd.conf seems fine, nameserver IPs at my registrar look fine, the domain even resolves to the correct IP address. Problem is, when I do a traceroute, the hostname that comes up for my IP address is patrocinio.softhost.com.br (instead of picasso.fundraw.com).
As far as I can tell, they've hijacked the IP address. Now, whether they did this through rooting my server or at a higher level, I cannot tell.
The server is with LayeredTech, resold and fully managed through Server4Sale. I have Server4Sale looking into it, but wondering how the heck someone apparently stole my primary IP address is driving me nuts.
What you really mean is it wasn't registering. HTTPD being down, an incorrect rule in a firewall, dns service being down etc, a million things could have caused it.
What you might want to find out is what is in your logs. that should point to what caused the issue. if someone used that IP on another server there wouldn't be any errors most likely, the log entries would just stop.
