    determine model and manufacturer- hardware

How do you determine the manufacturer and model of hardware if the name and model isn't specifically printed on the hardware. I extracted an agp graphics card from another computer that I don't use and I need to download the driver. I have this situation often.

Look up the FCC ID to find the manufacturer or just download a generic driver for the specific chipset on the card. If the chip is covered with a heatsink, gently remove it to see what kind of card it is and search for those drivers.
