    Server Review

    Hello all,

I am kind of a newbie regarding the dedicated server performances.

I currently own two websites and I currently have a dual Opteron 246 with 4gb of ram. Everything is running smoothly and the current usage is of 80%.

I am thinking of moving both websites to:

    Dual Intel WoodCrest 5160 / 3.0ghz 4GB Ram
These are the fastest Woodcrest CPUS made, dual cpu dual cores! 4 cores at 3ghz
    8 GB Fully buffered Memory
    8x 36gb 15k rpm scsi w/ hardware raid 10 Fast I/O!
Full hardware raid card, can do raid 0/1/5 and 10 (fast disk I/O!!)

Why? Well, one of my websites manage images, we practically modify images by resizing and so on with the server. The other website receives a lot of traffic and a lot of stuff is generated.

I was thinking if I move to this new server, will the process of generating new images and other stuff be faster?

I am sorry for my english. I hope you can help me.

    Thanks

The process of generating new images should be faster, though for me it's difficult to say the percentage of you current usage.

I'm aware of that; it's just that the OP's traffic requirements impress me.

OP: Original Poster; That would refer to you. And I'm impressed by your traffic requirements. Good job with your site!
