I have been a Liquidweb VPS II customer (paying $90/month) for over a year now, and in the late couple of months, IO has been extremely slow on my machine. I opened couple of tickets about this, and I was always told that they did some configuration tweaks to fix it and it is OK now. But, it does not fix anything and I get the feeling that I am being ignored at this point. In fact, in one of the tickets, I was told that since this is a shared environment, I should expect this???
I have been monitoring the IO performance for the last couple of weeks on my machine using a very simple script: basically I am copying a 10 meg file every 30 mins and measuring the time for this file copy operation. I have printed this data and chart for the last 1 week is available at:
As far as I am concerned, this data looks concerning to me, and I can't understand how copying a 10 meg file can take 4-5 seconds and even more most of the time!
What makes it even worse is that, I have the exact same site on another shared host (sharing the machine with ~ 200 other domains), and domain is dns-load balanced. And, a $10 shared hosting account performs better than LWEB.
Do you think this is normal for a VPS environment, or am I being paranoid here?
