Hi I have yum repo's of apache 2.2 I believe, php 5 and mysql 5. I had apache tuned BUT on my new and old internet old was DSL 100kB/s down and 60kB/s up now i have 3mB down or something like that and the site LAGS also the cpu gets kicked to 15ish with Keepalive on php scripts. Is that high for just a forum? I had no users on the server just me refreshing it and looing at top
I think I'd like to get Lighttpd for better speeds and lower load I'm going to be doing some file hosting. Is it faster then apache with eaccelerator?
Also I use everydns.net and just put my IP address in then the site works fine - How can I do more sites per IP well more domains per IP address?
If you have such a slow internet I would not really worry about what apache you run, you are not exactly going to be able to push much traffic. Instead work on optimizing the local box - something sounds wrong if you are going to a load of 15 just by a few people visiting it unless you have some 286 running it.
