Migrating from dedi to colo - advice needed
Let me give you some (tech) details, before I ask question / seek advice.
3 dedi boxes, all 3 Windows 2003 R2;
All three have VPS-es;
New situation (colo):
5 servers (all Win 2k R2);
I have to take care for the migration from one to another platform.
All 3 dedi boxes will be available for +/- 1 week after colo has been placed, so that I will have time to migrate customers.
My idea is:
Setup colo stuff. Install Virtuozzo, setup switch, add NAS to windows as a drive, secure the enviroment, add IP's and so on.
Then, comes the hard part. Moving existing customers from dedi to new colo's. I will setup the following on colo:
3 web servers;
2 db servers (only to be reached on private network);
All customer data will go onto NAS (7,5 TB). Would it be enough to make VPS backup (one for one) and transfer them from dedi to NAS?
What should I take into consideration? Any 'common' problems I may run into when migrating?
Customers will be updated that they will have downtime and that is OK (will do it in the night).
Any ideas and tips are welcome.
I will also have SW Soft on 'stand by' just in case.
Does SW Soft have an migration wizard? Sounds like that will be needed as all the config on the VPS needs to be imported as well.

Virtuozzo does have a migration wizard from one node to another. I would suggest using that over a backup.
Yes they do have it, though have never used it before. So some first hand expirience is more then welcome
There migration wizard is really simply, not sure if you would need licenses for the new servers. Might be worth contacting SWsoft.
