British-isms..any new ones?
I noticecd today somebody used "Across the lake" in a post. Wrong wrong!
Come on, people. It's a pond.."Across the pond". I have worked hard working several things that I like that from that part of the world..sayings..nifty spellings..like:
Colour
Tyres<very cool!
and of course.."Over the moon!"
I was disappointed to learn that Starbuck's has taken over there as well...but I do drink a good bit of tea, I do! Even though I am from the South...I've never cared much for iced tea...so..it is hot always..mostly Twinings. I even enjoy the new "Dr. Who"!
The purpose of the post was...are there others that I have missed?
Thanks!

Hmm...thought we already had it! Robotic killer Christmas Trees! Woot! Santa-Of_death! Brings to mind that wonderful "Scrooged" scene.."The Day the Raindeer Died!"..or something like that. A classic! Bring the kids!
And..of course..the quotes from "Lion King" and "Hitchhiker's Guide"...very well put, I say!

I am just giving you a hard time, I know some can use different measures, just as those doing any international business in the US learn to do(mostly on their own).
But in reality some things are even spelled and done differently in the southern US than in the Northern half. In addition to that the stuff many of these Brits are talking now, its not English(UK) or English(US). I have yet to figure out WHAT it is.
