    Help with Resellers

    Hi,

I want to buy a reseller account. Unfortunately, I'm not sure which host I should go with. Can anyone recommend any reseller that is good? Or have a high percentage of uptime? Anytime additional advice and information would be greatly appreciated.

Please recommend some reseller host and comment on these two if you can:

    Hostabox and Hostpacket.

If you're wondering, yes, I did do a search on them and I only found two posts per host...

    Thanks!

There are lots of good resellers around and mentioned here. Do a search on www.splashhost.com www.mchost.com www.voxtreme.com www.hostmatters.com for starters.

There are others, but can't quite remember them at the moment.

ok..all links should work now..aside from the spelling error.. the "," although gramatically correct isn't liked by the url

Before we can give you good advice, it would be helpful if you tell us what you plan to do with the reseller program. E.g. are you just trying to host multiple domains, sell hosting as part of web design, or going into full time hosting?

    oops

    Thanks!

What I'm planning to do is hosting other domains. So, yea, kind of like a hosting company.

I also want to host my other two domains there and then start seeing if I could get some customers.

Any tips? I did a search on terrastudios and they've been getting good comments.

    Any opinions??

In that case, you should be looking for reseller program that offers you flexibiliy, because evetually (assuming you do want to grow the business, right?) you will want to get your own dedicated server and go from there. It is really important to find a host that has good support, good service, and also at the same time flexible.

Also, don't forget to do research! More options is always better. And if you have any question, we are all here to help.

What excatly are you looking for a Private Label Reseller plan were you get your own name servers or a reseller plan like you buy our plans at a discount and you sell them for a profit?

Private Label Solution - You get more space and more control over your hosting, including creating your own plans adding customers as you wish and normally you get your own name servers etc on a cpanel / Plesk server. More profits in the long run, and can be easily assisted being put on a dedicated server once out grow your space/bandwidth in your reseller plan.

Reseller Plans Solution - You have the plans that the company has specified for you to sell, you get them at a discount and you sell for a profit using mostly the companys annonymous name servers - Advantages doesn cost to much upfront , disadvatages being that the plans are very limited, and you will not be making enough profit when you start getting a certain amount of customer unless you get a very good % from the hosting reseller you select to use.

    Good luck in your search

thank you all for the tips!

I guess it's more like a private label solution then.

I want to buy a reseller account, make up my own price and plan and sell them. IF the business do grow, then yes, I want to get a dedicated server.

I'm also looking deep into alphaomegahosting. I did a research on them here and got some good comments. I'm still waiting for a reply to some of my questions.

Anyone has any experience or know any thing (good or bad) they want to share about this host?

    Thanks all!

I think the choice is not private label vs. reseller plan, but between bulk style (1 account) and the normal reseller plan. Both bulk-style and normal reseller plans can be private label ...but i'd say bulk-style is definately what you're looking for, since it allows you to set your own plans for each client.

Yep and you don't have to run back to your host and buy a new hosting plan each time you get a new client. You carve up as many domains as you can fit inside your disk space and data transfer usage parameters.

Well we're bulk (if you havent looked at our plans) - basically you purchase one reseller plan and you create as many sites as you like, each website comes out of your allocations.
