    Processes running a long time

I have a few process that seem to be running for a long time they are:

    kjournald (over 84 hours)
another instance of kjournald (over 9 hours)
    named over (27 hours)
    mysqld over (30 hours)

    Is that normal?

its a process that handles your ext3 filesystems - if you've got 2 id hazard a guess that you have 2 filesystems...?

kjournald is the journalling daemon for ext3 filesystems, it does something every 5 seconds/depending on settings. The fact that it has so many hours would indicate that disk usage is very high on your system which means you probably have lots of visitors. And lots of visitors means lots of DNS and mysql queries which would make up the result for the other two processes.
