var sidebar_align = 'right';
var content_container_margin = parseInt('350px');
var sidebar_width = parseInt('330px');
got a simple question for you.
If I was running a server with the following specs:
1GB DDR RAM
2 x80GB Hard Drive
Roughly how many websites would it be feasible to host on the server. The sites would be corporate sites, relatively low usage.
This is hypothetically speaking, Im merely interested in someones claim...
I know for a fact, that some people jam 400 sites into a server that size, but again that is for budget hosting, and you run the risk of overloading it. That said, the customer we have that has done this, has NEVER once had an issue with the server load.
Would there be any databases?
I would second that - are there any databases? and I would add "What is the average storage per account?"
Ok so say 1 database per customer and 50MB per user.
I am also referring to an Server running Linux and the database will be mySQL, accessed via PHP.
Also, supposing you added a relatively large messageboard, with something like 2000 users, with 100 regular users, how would this affect things and should something like that be on its own server?
So anybody care to hazard a guess? 200 be a safe load given what I have said?
