Motor city needs some lift after Ford's disappointing earnings. Go Detroit.

    Absolute waste of time.

Because of this annoying series, half of my shows aren't on TV until the damned thing is over and it takes precedence in HD programming so I can't watch the games I actually care about.

baseball is the sport for people who couldn't play a real one such as Hockey and Football (either one of 'em)

So true. If they would just run it on ESPN and not clog prime time I'd be fine with it.

I agree. I don't see why it's called the world series.

I apologize to all Michigandians (ub3r ) But I'll have to pick the cards because Detroit has won a Stanley Cup and the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy within half a decade.

Well, there's the U.S., and then there's some places we've invaded, and really, what else is there?

Oh, and I voted Who Cares. I mean, I'm glad the Yanks aren't in the World Series, but short of the Indians making it (yeah right), I really don't care much about who's playing. I'd watch to see NY lose, and that's about it. I might have watched some if the Mets made it. That would have been neat!

Between Detroit and St. Louis, I'll take Detroit. In fact, they might win the next two or three too!

I'd like to see Detroit go all the way. It's a spirit booster for the city.

Comeon, it's the world series, it's a big deal... sure they are going to play it on primetime channels. There is a huge audience, so it is a way for the network to make more money.

Not sure why it's called the world series; however, Canada has a team, so it's not just limited to the US. But I bet we will see some Japanese, Puertorican, other Caribbean countries and Mexican teams in the next 20 years.

I'm from near Detroit. Personally, I hope that the Tigers lose.

    Why?

All the bandwagoners who jumped on this year because finally the Tigers had a winning season. Where were they for the last decade when the Tigers were garbage?

Cardinals up by 2, top of the ninth, only one more out and it's all over.

    Victory in sight.

And that's it, it's all over.

St Louis Cardinals win the 2006 World Series 4-1.

That's pretty amazing. Not that I cared much about it, but even when it was 2-1, I thought Detroit would pull through. I still think they have the makings of a dynasty. For their sakes, I hope it's not the kind of dynasty that leaves a legacy behind it similar to the Buffalo Bills in the 90's!

I was not happy last night when I saw Tigers lost. I kept on hoping, but they didn't take advantage of Casey's and Guillen's excellent game. I have to wait till next year now.

I fell asleep watching it last night but remember to hit record before hand so I could watch it today... started my day by checking email where there was an email top of my inbox from MLB.com telling me who won, how annoying! Just skipped straight to the ninth inning now to watch the end now.

Good win for them, hadn't expected it at all at the start.
