    CityPics.org 2

    Hi,

I seem not to be able to accept a defeat .

I just rereopened CityPics.org for another time and beside of its new top-level domain I added some other new features too - most prominently the ability to store the geographical coordinates of a location within a satellite map.

I'd be happy to hear some critics, be it positive or negative, about the site respectively suggestions for improvements you would find nice to have in such a site.

    Thank you!

PS: Should you have pictures of your or another city, I'd certainly welcome you to post them.

Good idea. How about expanding your site horizontally. I have like 40% of my screen wasted and would reduce scrolling.

I'd increase the fontsize on the imagedescriptions. It's very small. Overall the site looks really relaxed on the eyes, good job.

Thanks PhireFast. Do you mean something in addition to the logo in the header?

But, anon-e-mouse, what was the snipped?

How about searchability? I know if I'm not registered and looking for a pic of some sort I would be more interested in regsitering if I could search for what I wanted and then login to see it big screen.

    Hi,
I'd put a few more photos/graphics on the front page to make it a little more interesting.

Also - the banner at the top, the logo needs to go on the left. When I first starting looking at the page I was like "Something is wrong here" and that was it. That might fly in China though.

Thanks DLee, a search feature is definitely I am already planning, but didnt implement yet because of the still "managable" amount of galleries.

Thanks to you meanpc too, I will consider to add more random photos to the main site, but I dont find the chinese logo that weird , do you really?

    Anybody else comments?

Thank you John. I am currently working on a redesign of the frontpage and will embed more photos as you said. I know that the site is not extremely graphic intensive and personally like it, however what parts would you improve graphically?

I'd be grateful for comments by others as well.

Thanks for all the opinions. I listened to all of them decided to open up CityPics to the public without any mandatory registration. The major news are that all photos are now accessible without an account. Also the front page was overhauled and has a bigger focus on photos.

Of course registration is still free and gets the user the ability to comment and rate photos as well as to see the satellite location where the picture was taken. Also registered users do not see any advertisement banners.

I'd appreciate any new comments or suggestions about the changes.
