I agree... But this is a bit of a problem.. I do not trust online review as this got me into my first bad experience with web hosting..
So if this is the case with WHT, then what are we to do...
People who build websites and all that good stuff and getting crippled by false reviews...
any suggestions on how we can help people choose would be more than welcome...
and yes. I know people say. ring them up. test their servers... but people have already done this and the experience does not get recorded thus it seems every one has to go thought this unneeded experience.
Sorry to sound so blunt but I have spent MANY of days and night of WHT and other sites looking for the best hosting… and I agree you do get what you pay for… but if you have the money then who do you go with…?????
Have a look at hostway or maybe someone like circle hosting.
Hope that Helps

I think you only put your eye on UK web hositng, and I see the price you list above is pretty expense. Why not try some US web hosting company, midPhase, Bluehost, and ServerPronto, they are all very good web hosting company. And now I use hostmonster, so far it's great (Might not for you, since the package i get is for small business, for you might need some higher feature).
OK is their a diffrence hosting in the US? I mean speed and what not....
Dont forget the sites are going to be ecommerce so they will be heavy MYSQL usage..
Hosting US vs. UK - there will be a slight speed difference. The data has to travel across the ocean after all. Generally, it's not a big deal though - I doubt most people would even notice. All other things being equal, I would get a box on my own continent. You can google things like ping, tracert, etc. Google is good.
How about a little more info?
Are the sites you are looking to host already established? How much traffic are you going to get?
How much are you willing to pay? How much experience do you have hosting websites? Do you need your hand held?
Can you afford $100/mo? Get your own box. That's got to be the most reliable hosting - you don't have to worry about another user on the box hogging all the resources.
No matter what, shared hosting will always be suspect, because one user can f' up the whole box.
If it really matters, get a dedicated server, or a VPS. Anything else is just risky, I don't care who you host with.
Having said all of that, I have seen some incredible deals on dedi servers at leaseweb.com, which I believe is UK.
Look - you're going to have to take all of the data here and assimilate it yourself. A good percentage of the people that post here are selling hosting themselves. They all want to tell you - "buy mine!". A lot of people are also affiliates for hosting companies. Very few people here do not have some sort of vested interest in the hosting business.
So use search, read threads, google it, then make your own decision.
