I am new to using cpanel and have a few quesions. I just signed up with a webhost and before I uploaded my site I did a backup of the home directory in the backup section. I then uploaded my site and wanted to restore the original home directory so I chose backup then restore, I then hit browse found my file and uploaded it. But it didnt put it back to the way it was before I uploaded my site, all the files are still there. My question is, does it delete the old files or does it just put back the files that where there. Another works all the files that I put on there after I did the backup are still there. I was hoping it would delete all the files in public_html but it didnt. Is this normal? If it is, can I delet the public_html file and will it put it back when I do a restore?
Thanks for the reply, I didnt want to do a full backup. I just wanted to get the html_public directory back to the way it was before I uploaded my site. I thought thats what doing a backup of the home directory was. The problem is when I restore the home backup all the files stay in the html_public folder. Can I just delete the folder and start fresh?
What I am trying to do is create the file the way it was before I uploaded my site. Another words the public_html folder was empty, now it has all the website foles. I am trying to make it back to the way it was before i uploaded the site. Like a fresh install.
