Hello all,
Anyone seen the latest PC World advert?
"It's pretty much future proof"
Can they say that? Of course the PC isn't future proof! Either way, it made me laugh.

Havent seen it... Is it on TV or in a magazine?
Sounds like the usual PC World spin - the thing is most people trust PC World and dont realise the people that work in their stores for the most part dont have a clue about PC's and are actually salesmen...

The bold part is probably why they can get away with it since then it becomes more of an opinion versus a factual statement. I mean, you see car commercials all the time showcasing some pretty extraordinary capabilities of the vehicles, but you have the disclaimer on the bottom of your screen that you can barely see telling you that it's a 'professional driver on a closed course and that none of this is actually real' so they can get away with some pretty outlandish stuff that way.

I've not seen too.
From personal experience I hate PC World shop, as customer service is crap, the stuff pretend that they are busy doing something & running from customers.

I guess as its got the qualifier on there they can get away with. Also it depends how you define future proof as you could take it as that you can keep upgrading bits but keep the original case as that bit is probably future proof

i saw that and thought the same the other day - seemed a bit of a bold statement someone with more time than me might take up with them!
it did occur to me that by futureproof they mean 'will run vista' or thereabouts..

With one of their adverts they had used footage of someone "pretending" to use a desktop computer but they were advertising a laptop so the mans hand was moving as if he was holding onto a mouse, which wasn't there....if that makes sense?

Yer, I have seen this advert. It made my just sigh..
It’s not even that good of a computer, from what i remember; it’s got an Intel duo processor that is probably the best thing going for it.
