    Pronunciation of SATA. Say-Tuh or Suh-Tuh ???

    Hi guys,

    Im goin to my local bestbuy to get a new SATA hard drive and just wanted to make sure I don't make a clown out of myself, please let me know which is the right pronunciation.
    Is it Say-tuh or Suh-tuh?
    If you have an even more sophisticated way of pronuncing it, please feel free.

    I just say S-A-T-A like P-A-T-A. Of course SCSI is pronounced "Scuzzy" lol!

    If its going to be pronounced, should it not be Sattah? As in Matta?

    Eh, I just pronounce it ESS AYE TEA AYE. I just figure that you pronounce IDE as I-D-E and ATA as A-T-A so why should SATA be any different?!

    It depends. I usually say either Serial A T A, or Sa-Ta (Sa as in saddle and Ta as in tattle). If you worry about sounding strange, then simply ask for a Serial ATA drive and you'll have no problems.
