I need some advice on selecting the right host for us. We're starting a website and since there won't be too many visitors I think any cheap webhosting would be fine. Thing I am concerned with is email as:
1) we send a fair amount of pictures and because email history has to be kept for long time our accounts take ca 2GB.
I imagine when our web page will be ready and we clean up accounts space needed for email will decrease significantly but for now
anything below 2-3 GB won't help us.
2) we run few low volume newsletters for our customers - there are few lists (300 - 500 addresses each) but 1-2 times a month we will send mail to almost everyone (ca 1500 emails). Email database will rather grow in the future.
We don't have budget for VPS and I was looking for some cheaphosting. Something Dreamhost offers for example (200GB + 1TB traffic) is much more than we need - the only problem is SMTP quota (100 relays/hour). While it would be plenty for everyday use quota would be reached when any of our newsletter is sent. And I wouldn't be able to explain to users they have to wait 3 hours until regular email can be sent..
So basic question is: could anyone here recommend me a good hosting similiar to GoDaddy/Dreamhost in terms of features/price but with unlimited (or not so strict) SMTP use policy? Are there some other ways to solve such a problem - just a cheap mail server? Does Dreamhost (or others) extend its quota when needed? If yes up to which level?
