Might as well just paint it on a canvas with real paint if he's going to use brushes and other tools. Would have been impressive if it was just done with his finger.

Why question how much free time he has or if he has anything better to do? Do you ask this of all artists?

I do a decent amount of digital art myself, but as you said why not actually paint using tradiotional methods rather then spend your time making dust art that won't last, seems like a waste of effort to me.

What about the guy that paints the "3D Style" art on concrete surfaces with chalk etc? That will end up being washed away, yet the publicity from that has landed him some big corporate jobs which I'm sure pay well!

This guy is just showing how great an artist he is. It's probably not the only thing he does with his life, but wanted to show what he can do, like any person with a hobby or skill!

Or all those people who do sand art! I watched a program where they randomly blew up one of their designs in a competition and they had to start over! Their designs were awesome!
