    * My domain has been stolen by Name.net !

    Hi,

    I bought today:

    chinraen.com

using www.domainsarefree.com and my domain was working within minutes.

    Whois: http://whois.domaintools.com/chinraen.com

Now (5hours later) my domain is the property of Name.net and I have no more access to anything..

Anyone had such issue with ******.com (domainsarefree's registrar).

No need to tell you to stay away from both company.

    Regards,

I wouldn't go as far as saying Name.net "stole" the name. It's much easier to say
and believe that, especially if one didn't check further.

The name's newly registered with them, still not showing the registrant and any of
the contacts. I'd say wait a little bit more.

Also, domainsarefree.com is a reseller, not an actual domain registrar. Resellers
don't necessarily have the same umph as registrars do, especially doing real-time
    registrations.

I'd be curious to know why the domain name was no longer registered to you. But
I suspect a billing problem occurred and things happened from there.

Have you received your money back?

    I'd say it's deleted:

    Code:
    $ whois -h whois.name.net chinraen.com
    NO DOMAIN (1)

You need to start at http://precow.tucows.com/cgi-bin/who...&action=lookup and do the image verification thing.

    Then you'll get

Something's up. I can't see any contact data via name.com's WHOIS, and it's not
    locked either.

You might want to call name.com and be ready to supply any info they require to
validate your claims, if need be.
