How do I purchase an available domain?

    Hi all.

I have found a domain that had expired and is available for sale but how would I know who to contact from the whois screen. Here is the screen I am looking at:

Also, a co.uk has just expired but the site seems to still be running. If the domain is expired, how can I buy it?

    TIA - Dav

Well that domain doesn't expire until 2007...so that might be why your having problems.

Sorry - I didn't make it quite clear.

I understand the domain is registered until 2007 but if you visit the website there is a way of contacting the owner via email to purchase the domain. I have emailed the person but with no response.

I was wondering if there is anyway from the link I gave to find out the phone number of the actual owner of the domain?

Take a look at that...it looks like its purchased by a UK Hosting Company (ukhost4u.com), you can try calling them to see if they are willing to sell.

    * I guess if you scroll down on your whois it gives you the same info.

the celeb forum is registered at eNom. You should checkout Club Drop immediately, although from my experience they usually go on sale approx 1 month after they expire at Club Drop (probably so that eNom can "taste" the traffic on the domain). So check in there once or twice a week for the next 4-6 weeks.

Thanks so much Stu - that was exactly what I was after.

I did approach the actual host and they said they could not disclose the information of their customer as it was held under privacy.

I shall keep checking Clubdrop to see if the domain becomes avaialble.

Also, would you possibly be able to tell me if there is a similar programme to get co.uk websites that have expired. Here is the domain which expired in September... www.douglass.co.uk

    TIA - Dav

Sorry dav, can't help with .co.uk domains.

eNom, well all registers, register the expiring domain for another year, even if it'd not renewed by the registrant. At eNom, it goes into a limbo, which they sometimes call Extended Redemption Grace Period, when they can charge the previous registrant a chunk of money to renew. This is often 3 months but can be anything, in reality. So, if it doesn't appear on Club Drop within 6 weeks you could still check in every couple of weeks at Club Drop. Probably depends how much you want the domain.
