apache resolving visitor IP's in logs?
I was wondering if anyone can give me an easy answer where to look to solve this.
One of my sites on a cpanel apache server is resolving the IP's automatically in the logs!
None of the other sites I have on that server do that.
I looked around in htaccess and didn't see anything that would do it.
Does anyone have any other ideas why this might be happening?
I am worried about the resource it's using up doing that constantly for every visitor.
Thanks for any assistance and ideas.
You can disable this in the httpd.conf file on the server. See http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.2/mod...ostnamelookups
Wouldn't it be weird for our host to have HostnameLookups turned on for a single website on an entire server? I guess it's possible. I wonder if I can override it in htaccess.
Thanks for pointing that directive out.
