200GB HDD reading at almost full capacity on RaQ3!!
Today I finally gave a go at a 200GB hdd and see what happens when I loaded a CentOS4 only installation on a RaQ3... and the result was sweet heaven
Although all the large HDDs that I tried have a 10GB shave off when showing the unused section, it still makes it possible to load bigger HDDs with CentOS4.
/dev/hda1 1.9G 628M 1.2G 36% /
/dev/hda6 13G 192M 12G 2% /var
/dev/hda5 1.9G 33M 1.8G 2% /tmp
/dev/hda2 1.9G 33M 1.8G 2% /workbin
none 126M 0 126M 0% /dev/shm
/dev/hdc1 184G 93M 174G 1% /home
This is done by manually formatting a HDD and mounting it, I have heard that using the restore disk does not work.
Thanks! This is great news...
granted a RaQ3 or RaQ4 will spin away forever "checking disk" at boot due to the size but this really helps me.. I needed to confirm the bios could handle a large drive... now I can work on the my restore cd's again and make them better!
