I am using Windows Server 2003 with PHP4 and IIS. The SMTP service is running. But heres my problem:
When I use a script that sends emails there is no error message, but the email never gets to the target email address. It's not just my email address, it's my client's email addresses as well. Since my client's cannot get emails from me and my automatic scripts this is causing major contact problems.
Do I need to set something in php.ini for it work? I have left the default SMTP settings (Server: localhost and port 25) and from telnet I can connect to the SMTP server.
This is correct, though you need to check whether you are editing correct php.ini. Check by placing php.info page and edit the correct configuration file. Normally it will be two path c:/windows or c:/php/. Check it.....
