    installing lighthttpd

I currently am having problems serving up attachments as my sites main content attraction is the attachments they are constantly in use.

I was wondering if i created a subdomain, such as then edited the DNS for the subdomain to point to a different IP other then the current one. Then install something like lighthttp and bound it to that particular IP if they would serve up any faster?

\Its a cPanel server as well.

    Thanks for any help

lighttpd is very faster ( lower cpu usage ) than apache and use lower memory usage .

Yes lighttpd is good and very fast.

You can create a subdomain and configure lighttpd to server contents. You may find following url also good starting point for lighttpd configuration. Please note that lighttpd is not ready for 3rd party CP i.e. you have to make configuration from command line.

    Good luck

Check cPanel's support forum, someone pointed out certain things that need changing in Apache's conf that are fairly unique to cPanel.
