64 year old Turkish Woman gives birth
A 64-year-old Turkish woman has given birth to a baby boy in Istanbul, becoming the second oldest mother in the world, a hospital spokesman said today.
After 35 years of trying, Memnune Tiryaki became pregnant through in vitro fertilisation by egg transfer from a donor in the breakaway Turkish sector of Cyprus and delivered her baby on Monday in the private German Hospital here.
It's a great success ... She is the second oldest woman in the world to have given birth, hospital spokesman Bulent Biricik said.
He said that a Romanian had given birth at the age of 67 in 2005.
I find it amazing that any woman could wish for a child at that age, they must be awfully energetic to be able to plan ahead to take care of the child in years to come

Whenever I hear these stories, I always think of the line from "Harry Met Sally,"
Sally: And it's not the same for men. Charlie Chaplin had kids when he was 73.
Harry: Yeah, but he was too old to pick them up.
I'm glad they were able to finally conceive and I hope they have a wonderful life because of it.

Sorry, but I just think that is wrong
Its enough work to take care of a kid, nevermind at that age
I think it would be a big thing when the child is at school, what would they do if their parent(s) died when they were very young?John Diver

We know a lady who gave birth at 56. At that time she was the oldest recorded new mother in QLD. It wasn't planned, and it was just one of those things. It feels wierd, when their child is the same age as their friend's grandchildren.
