HI Andy,
I am based in Japan and Iwould like to know whether I have to pay the VAT? I just got off your sales live chat support and the girl had no clue about this and she said that I must pay the VAT if I want hosting from UK2. Why do I have to pay the local taxes when I am not based in the UK? It doesnt make much sense to me. Could you please explain if really have to pay the VAT?

I am kind of taking a risk here as I don't know UK2's policies, but under the rules of EU VAT you wont have to pay VAT as you are not an EU resident and therefore you dont not have to pay your government EU VAT.
However, some companies do a blanket price that applies to everyone. I think usually you get away without the VAT by being a client outside of the EU if the price is listed as +VAT. If its listed as including VAT, then many companies do this to avoid hassle and confusion and charge it as a blanket.
Either way though, your not really liable.
Apologies to Andy if you feel I have taken this thread off course somewhat. If so, I am happy for you to request this post to be removed.
Some nice offers, it seems the new UK2 is going forwards, the old UK2 had a terrible reputation. Well done, keep it up, can only be good for the industry as a whole.

Hi,
Don't worry you won't have to pay the VAT as long as you enter your country details as non-UK.
@Excellweb Matt - Thanks, good to know we are on the right track, there have been many dramatic changes for the better at UK2 and we still have a few more planned
Thanks,
Andy
