I need an Unmanaged Network switch, also that does Bandwidth Limiting per network port, say like NIC1 gets 2Mbit - NIC2 gets 10mbit and so on. Thanks again i was looking at these 3 switches but i dont really know the differnce between them.
CISCO Catalyst 2950 WS-C2950T-24
CISCO Catalyst 2960 WS-C2960-24TT-L
You need a managed switch so you can actually configure something. Unmanaged switches are dumb devices with no interaction possible.
Either the 2950 or 2960 will work as long as it has the EI image. You can rate limit in 1Mb increments.
Yes definitely go with a Managed Switch. Unmanaged switches will not let you configure anything.
We use some 2950T with the enhanced image and it works very well.
